These imaging techniques help in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer and other abnormalities. Breast CT delivers 3D cross-sectional views, while mammography uses low-dose X-rays, making them essential tools for accurate breast health evaluation.
A mammogram uses low-dose X-rays to take images of the breast from multiple angles. The breast is gently compressed between two plates for a few seconds to obtain clear images. While it may cause slight discomfort, the procedure is very quick. Both scans are safe, accurate, and usually completed in 10–15 minutes.

For a mammogram, the breast will be gently compressed between two plates to capture images. For a Breast CT, you will lie on a padded table while the scanner moves around the breast to collect 3D images. Both procedures are safe, quick, and cause minimal to no discomfort.
Do I need any preparation before the test?
Yes. Avoid applying deodorants, powders, or lotions on the chest or underarms before the test, as they can interfere with the images. Wear comfortable clothing.
Is the procedure painful?
A mammogram may cause slight discomfort due to breast compression, but it lasts only a few seconds. Breast CT, on the other hand, is generally painless as no compression is used.
